Though initially fortunate in building his new life, hidden from his rival Javert, he is unfortunately drawn in the uprising of the commoners of Paris, France, wherein Jean Valjean is compelled to find answers that would possibly put him and his daughter, Cosette, in danger.

This story from Victor Hugo's novel, one of justice and redemption, has been running for approximately four decades in several venues over many different countries. Since its first showing in French theatre in the late 20th century, it has secured its place not only as one of the most amazing shows of all time, but also part of the most-awarded musicals as well. In its global debut by itself, it topped the list of nominees and awardees of the acclaimed Tony Awards, with 12 nominations and 8 wins.
